Should we still care about r/Philippines, or more specifically reddit? I would say no, just leave it to rot in the hands of Spez and his lappydogs.

Mabuhay at maligayang pag-alis sa Lemmy! โ๏ธ
An abandoned community for the Philippines and all things Filipino! ๐ต๐ญ
Started out as a Reddit alternative during the blackout from Jun 12-21, 2023 with over 1k members in just a few days. Fizzled faster than the "I Didn't Do It" kid after a month until it became the internet's Centralia in less than a year.
Filipino artists whose works were featured on our daily random thread covers.
We ran a poll immediately after the sub re-opened and that was kinda one of the choices โ "redditors decide what to do" which heavily implies that we follow what the trend protest gimmick was (John Oliver-ish posts at the time). It lost via plurality.
Also kind of a moot point. I don't think the majority of r/PH was for the protest. When I mean "protest", I mean something along the lines of indefinite. You can tell most of them couldn't wait for the two days and some were furious that it lasted longer. Doing another one would just piss a lot of people off.
Protest? It was over when majority of the subs re-opened after 48 hours and when the rest let reddit control them with the threat of removing mods. Just moderate the sub like normal.
Let those who want to stay in reddit enjoy the platform.
