Sounds like a common house spider to me, we often have a couple show up in places across our house most years and they stuck around for a few months. My partner usually ends up naming them
spiderbro
Spiders are our friends, not the vile, eight-legged monsters they have been demonized to be. Share your favorite photos of spiders and arachnids here (yes, daddy-long-legs or order Opiliones are welcome, too).

- Be respectful to each other, try not to get into petty arguments. Basically, DBAA.
- It's okay to still be scared of spiders, but always turn your fear into a learning experience. Please no comments about "Getting out the flamethrower" or describing "How disgusting" a spider looks. That's just disrespectful!
We named a large house spider that often ended up in the bath ‘Pete’. Our young children were much less afraid of it after that.
I know fear of spiders is a useful survival instinct, but again where we live they’re just happy cohabitants.
Ahh. I lived in appt once and named 3 daddy long-legs. Napoleon, The Dude, and Charlotte. Lots of personality in those spideys. Good times.
Aww, that’s so adorable.
Spiders and centipedes are welcome insects in my household.
Forgive me if I'm wrong here, but aren't spiders arachnids instead of insects?
You're not wrong, I just didn't care about the distinction xD
There are a couple varieties of spider that roam so identification is dependent on certain specifics. Color, distinctive markings, number of eyes, proportions, country, and behavior are the simple ones. Gotta catch it to be certain of its name!
Look up common spiders for your state or country if you believe you can identify it from your quick look. Shouldn’t take much more than 20 minutes to sift through the natives unless you live in a heavily forested area.
If I see this little hunter again, I’ll be sure to pay closer attention to the details. If I start describing the colors or shapes now, there’s a huge risk of those faint memories being inaccurate or even completely false. However, I would like to think it had two white longitudinal stripes, but I don’t trust that memory at all.
