New to using thunder and I really like most everything about it.

However I am getting excessive 502 errors and I wanted to see if this is somewhat normal or causes.

Usually 502's are the servers failing in one way or another, but it happens whether I'm on all local or subscribe.

Wondering if I need my account to be somewhere besides lemmy.world based on location?

Moving to a smaller instance is usually a good idea. Do keep in mind that content from lemmy.world could still give errors from time to time since it tends to get overloaded.

lemmy.world is one of the biggest instances, so I wouldn't be surprised if the server struggles from time to time. Because of how the fediverse works, switching between local, all and subscribed doesn't make a difference. You still access the non-local content through lemmy.world because it's cached there.

The irony of me opening up this post and initially getting a 502. 😂

I was having this problem constantly with my lemmy.world account. Made a new one on lemmy.ca and it's been nothing but great.

So I'd suggest making a new account on a smaller instance.
