Seems like most of /r/golf is unaware of the change at Reddit. They're probably mostly official app users. I think it's kind of a different demographic then the core Reddit base. Like older richer folk.
Golf
The original Lemmy golf community!
Post anything golf related.
No Buying/Selling/Trading or NSFW Posts.
/c/pinball is a desert, and it makes me sad. GL on your golf community.
I will make a pinball meme just for you, Svengarlic.
I think I love you
Don't get too excited until you see the meme 😂
There is another golf community which seems slightly more active. I think it’s in lemmyworld.
Thanks, yeah, I realized that after posting this. From the sidebar of this sub, you'd think the creator would give more of a shit.
I guess just follow both and see which one takes off.
Can you start showme your bag Show me the course.. more picture about golf could be cool
I'm a terrible golfer, so I just kinda assume people won't want to hear what I have to say, but fuck it, sure, I can be the face of /c/golf for a while.
I need to get back into the swing of it... Thanks for reminding me. I haven't been in years, I wasn't ever good but sure is fun. Of course now it's too hot.
I went this morning when the humidity was 93%. Baaaaad idea. How the pros play in long pants is beyond me.
I decided to get back into it this year after taking about a decade off. I love being out on the course. Took some lessons at a local course and realized I have a lot of work to do before I feel comfortable going as part of a large group again. I second the comment about humidity, absolutely brutal on the course with pants. The pros must wear some sort of super high tech NASA grade moisture wicking underwear or something.
Kind of having the same issue with a community for my university. I have 10 subscribers, and I’ve gotten 1 comment. I’ll usually get 2 or 3 upvotes on posts, but I’m the only one posting anything. Hopefully it will liven up when football season starts.
My thought is that even if it's just me posting for a while, more people will see that it's active and join. At least, more than if the sub was empty.
