Could American Evangelicals spot the Anti-Christ?
Quite simply, they are not good Christians. They are blind to the obvious. Those who follow Trump are, at best, simple minded pawns in a game they will never understand. At worst, they are willing agents against humanity and morally good causes.
Anecdotally, I know some evangelicals that loathe Trump. They're going to vote for him anyway because they feel any Democrat is far worse. Yeah.
What is it about Judeo-Christian theists and always believing the ends justify literally any means?
Probably all that murdering of first borns and drowning everybody because god loves us crap.
Probably because all they have to do is say "sowwy baby Jesus, I did an oopsie" and they get to feel all better
Reading comprehension is an important skill. It’s one thing to take the direct and literal meaning from a string of words. It’s another to understand the meaning and themes behind them. Evangelicals lack this skill. That’s the only explanation. The Bible says lots of individual things, but if you look beyond that to the deeper themes about giving a shit about other people, forgiveness, service, humility, etc you would never end up supporting any republicans, especially Trump.
