Rules

Rule 1 - Don't be a dick

Don't be a dick. This includes any kind of trolling, baiting, etc. Bigotry may result in an instant permaban.

Rule 2 - No misleading or non-descriptive titles

No misleading or non-descriptive titles. Try to be brief but detailed.

Rule 3 - Keep post and comments relevant

Posts must be related to Plex and Plex-related products, apps. etc. Try to keep comments relevant to the parent comment and to the post.

Rule 4 - Keep discussions of "media aqcuistion" limited to means and methods only.

Discussions regarding media acquisition should be limited to the "how" not the "what", as this is not the place to discuss piracy of specific media. There are other communities for that, and we don't want to get this community defederated from instances where it's a forbidden topic. Posts/comments discussing specific acts of piracy ("How do I find X show?" or "Where can I download Y film?")will be removed. For further clarification see this post

Rule 5 - No asking / offering Plex shares.

Rule 6 - No low-effort / spam / meme posts

No low-effort / meme posts. These are considered spam, and will be removed. Repeat offenses may result in a ban.

Rule 7 - No referral / self-promotion / affiliate links, personal voting / campaigning / funding, or selling posts

No referral / self-promotion / affiliate links, personal voting / campaigning / funding, or selling posts. These are considered spam, and will be removed. Repeat offenses may result in a ban.

So, I add my TV shows to plex. It scans them and downloads meta data correctly and displays everything in my library. Titles are correct and they play. But as soon as it's done fetching everything it goes through one by one and removes them all from my library. I'm at a loss.

I know this sounds silly, but on the top of the webpage on your plex: movies do you have it on recommended vs library? For some reason mine defaults to recommended and depending on the folder I am looking at, nothing is there. When I click on Library they magically appear.

I am by no means an expert on the platform, just sharing what I have encountered.

Good luck.

Have you possibly used live tv in plex before? There are settings for series like “remove after viewing” or “only keep 5 episodes”.

Just a thought.

  • Are the files being deleted, or are they just not showing in the library?
  • What is the file and folder structure of your content?
  • Are you duplicating content (perhaps adding a highres version)?
  • Have you reviewed the debug logs? If so what does it say at the point of matching content?

Did you figure anything out? Plex can be weird sometimes but it should be full blown deleting files unless you had something setup to to do that.

Other commenter had a good question. Make sure the files are actually deleted and not just missing from plex. If just missing from plex it’s likely a naming issue.
