Anyone else looking to make a community outside of Reddit? We have to start somewhere! How's your 4th going? I'm chilling in a hammock before heading to a cookout.

I was banned from /r/RVA because the mods are dicks. I’m excited about building a better community here.

I spent the 4th out of town but if I were in town you would have found me enjoying the river and a cold one (ok more than one).

I'm sure there are people on r/RVA who would be interested in coming here, I just assume the mods wouldn't be interested in one of us advertising

I highly doubt that they would appreciate the invite to join this community, but you are welcome to burn that bridge with the mods if you are willing to try. I burned my bridge during the height of the pandemic when one mod took issue with my observation that people in the Fan did a poor job masking. Whatever.

There was a thread over there in mid-June asking where people were going following the Reddit API changes, but sadly many of the commentators didn’t seem to feel affected by it.

This community has grown by dozens in the last few days. I think I was maybe the 2nd or 3rd to subscribe. The more the merrier!
