Does it seem hotter than normal? Drier than usual? Have you noticed a distinct lack of bees in your neighbourhood? Come in and tell us about it.

This thread is for discussion of collapse-related issues that you’re personally experiencing, have experienced, or are affecting people you personally know. AKA things you don’t have to read the news to know are happening.

Links to relevant news articles are encouraged, however.

I live up in one of the spots along the Norwegian coast where due to the gulf stream its unusually warm and one thing I've noticed is that its been getting harder to grow tomatoes. The thing about tomatoes is that they really don't like frost. Historically it's been that last frost was like mid-april and if you planted seedlings out right as soon as it started getting above zero at night, you'd be able to get a decent amount of fruit before things started getting below zero again in late September. Last few years however? Gulf streams been a bit...odd and we've been getting relatively late and early frosts. I think this year the last one was in mid-may? Of course it's also been unusually hot which puts you in this weird and annoying position where you need to find plants that can tolerate hotter summers while at the same time being able to take a few -0 nights during the end of their growing season

Also I'm originally from Aus and holy shit bushfire season just gets worse every year. I remember Black Saturday being kinda a wakeup call for me back when I lived there and seeing it repeat ten years later was kinda horrifying

Well, we just had two weeks of higher than normal temperatures , now it has been raining heavily for a week and next week we'll get more extreme heat. I'm from Southern Finland and you can really see that changes in weather have become more extreme.

Just lots of thunderstorms, strong winds and rain followed by 30° heat, which is unusual for this time of year (at least I think so). News looks like a collapse forum most days. Activism slowly escalating, with no successes but lots of government crackdowns. Still riding BAU but crashing down any year now.

The nordics are getting hospitable for more and new species of mosquitos possibly carrying dangerous diseases.

Yes, yes, and not sure about bees… however used to have bumble bees pollinating all over in spring and didn’t notice them this year.

We’ve had so much rain here in Colorado that I haven’t had to turn on my sprinklers yet. First time in 10 years of living here.

My country had droughts become more frequent. The nearby stream that used to be at least half a metre deep is only 10 cm deep at best now.
