If you replaced the created user folder on the new install with your user folder for the old install, you've probably replaced NTUSER.dat, while this shouldn't break your password, your account will definitely be broken. Your best bet is to reinstall windows and copy the contents of your user folder, rather than the folder itself in order to not replace necessary system files.
