I think the red wings all out defensive system hasn't been the best for him. It really killed his confidence and shooting.

Good point. He may still not make it in the NHL, but I also don't necessarily agree with the coaching philosophy of trying to coach everyone the same. Both Blashill and Lalonde constantly harp on defense first. I think there should be room for one or two guys to be offense first to put the other team on their toes. The other four guys on the ice should be able to cover for one or two guys on a team. But what do I know, I'm not a NHL coach.
