Whenever I see the phrase "an awful lot of..." I find it's almost always reversable.

"you see an awful lot of $300 guitars"

but also:

"you see a lot of awful $300 guitars"

I’ve been playing for 30 years. There’s nothing inherently wrong with a $300 guitar.
