Lately I've been using AI to generate character portraits since I'm terrible at art. This actually came in really handy for PaizoCon, since everything was on VTTs. Here are a couple of ones that I've gotten that were good enough to keep. They're definitely not perfect, but you can upload them back into Nightcafe and have the AI keep working on them later

Hokgnath Bladegnawer (Battle Oracle/Mindsmith)

Matu'uk Bladegnawer (Giant Barbarian)

Jerhyn Skorn (Throwing Magus/Rogue)

Thanks for that, I'm going to try that process out; one of the big issues I've had with Nightcafe is that it tends to generate a lot of character portraits that are missing limbs, or it interprets the description of weapons (not armor, though) pretty badly, so hopefully using the HeroForge image as a base will help with that.

No problem! Here's an example of what I made with this technique:

And yeah, the other day I was working on character art with a friend for our next PF2e game and he used "tower shield" as an input. We got Big Ben in the background, and a small shield. 💀 This stuff requires a lot of finessing to get usable output.

My wife has absolutely zero interest in TTRPGs and Pathfinder, but she does like AI and gets a huge kick whenever I share a prompt that ended up with an amusing output with her.
