What article are you even reading at this point? Your quote is literally not in there.
That's exactly my point, you have to read the related articles as well to get a better understanding.
In short : whoever controlled the oil fields at any point in time was selling to whoever was buying, and Israel was buying from whoever was selling. There's examples in there of Syrian armed groups actively fighting against ISIS while at the same time buying their oil...
But by only linking that one article you seem to want to imply that Israel was specifically trying to fund ISIS, which is deceitful at best

Yes in this case ISIS. Which means israel was and probably still is directly funding ISIS.
Europe put sanctions on Russia to avoid funding Russia while they invade Ukraine. Because trade that bolsters an enemy more than yourself is contradictory.
ISIS is not the only party that sells oil. Israel just wanted their oil a little cheaper and had no problem funding ISIS. And I'm very much going to doubt that israel didn't know it came from ISIS.
