Mine has to be Dragon Quest: Rocket Slime, a DS spin off of the Dragon Quest series that sees you playing as a slime operating a tank and rescuing the people from your town. You run around the overworld, collecting items to use as ammunition and saving money to upgrade your tank. The art and music are just as great as you'd expect from the Dragon Quest series. It made fantastic use of the DS's dual screens. It's also written for a younger audience, so a lot of it is just really silly and fun! Try it out for sure, I'm so sad there's no sequel :(

Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective. I played it a decade ago on iOS, loved it, and thought it was never going to see a modern release again.

I'm thrilled to see its recent release on the Switch and PC because it truly deserves a try if you like a good story and time traveling based puzzles.

every mention of ghost trick i've seen is overwhelmingly positive...i gotta try it someday.

does it rely on the DS' dual screen much? idk if the rerelease would affect things

Not really. However, gameplay gets you to use the touch screen to move the main character in the game, so I anticipate that the switch version will either support touch, or make movement possible with joystick control.

I haven't tested it yet myself, so I can't confirm this though.
