Didn't realize until today that basically every other country apart from Germany uses an "M" as a symbol.
UK's got S, M and the Underground roundel. I think it's interesting that those three different common terms, subway, metro and underground, used globally, all originate from the London Underground in different ways.
Very little of the Newcastle Metro is underground. Mostly it's just the bin in Sunderland and Newcastle itself.
Czechia just uses a big down vote. Seems like they're anti transit.
