I think the introvert community is the place where people place a high value on solitude.
I never bought the intro\extrovert thing. Even as a 'scale' it's a simplistic dichotomy. Desire for human interaction isn't just one dimensional. I'm incredibly 'extroverted' in some circumstances and extremely 'introverted' in others and everyone I've known very well occupies similarly broad ranges of intro\extroverted behavior at different times.
Also some people who call themselves 'introverts' feel uneasy about the amount of time they spend alone and only use solitude to avoid negative feelings from being around people. Others who may not consider themselves 'introverts' may choose long stretches of solitude just because they like to explore their own thoughts. And some 'extroverts' are actually just codependent and would be more solitary if they didn't see that through a negative social lens.
I'm just saying human interaction is complicated and the pop-psychology concepts of intro\extroversion are useless at best and more likely harmful in their over-simplification. And don't even get me started on Myers-Briggs.
