Poyo!
Who's Kirby?
Kirby is the unstoppable puffball with an infinite appetite.
Staring in a pretty awesome series of games produced by HAL and published by Nintendo, Kirby is known for swallowing his enemies whole and copying their abilities.
Don't let his small stature and cute demeanor fool you! Kirby spends much of his time protecting his friends, planet, and food from demonic horrors that would otherwise threaten the entire universe.

[sorry for the mess i'm making on lemmy.world, both kbin.social and lemm.ee only have the new instance of each post]
[i love juggling three instances at the same time (:]
for the record, i say it the first way (/u/ as in “goose”). hearing kirbyvolt (other comment) say it the other way in their kirby and the forgotten land let’s play is what inspired me to post this.
i wasn't able to find an official english pronunciation from the nintendo of america youtube channel, but here's how various youtubers pronounce it:
/u/ as in "goose" / awoofy:
AntDude
pengyd769
Miketendo
The Completionist
Quasimofo
BornLosersGaming
StephenPlays
The D-Pad
/ʊ/ as in "foot" / awoofy:
Etce
Daily Doodles for You
KirbyVolt
ZackScottGames
based on this list, it seems like the first pronunciation (/u/ as in “goose”) is more common. but this isn't a big sample size so who really knows. feel free to bring up how other youtubers / notable people say it.
