I have some Fourth-of-July tomatoes in containers right now. I buy them as large starts from the nursery due to my short growing season (I live in a northern semi desert). I water basically every day and absolutely tomato plants need fertilizer! I am trying to feed them once a week or every other week. If not, they will cannibalize their lower leaves to push out new growth up high. You will see leaf yellowing at the bottom if that is happening.
Oh that’s good to know, thank you for sharing! I’m late to the fertilizer game, but picked up a bag of Tomato Tone last weekend. I’ve never heard of Fourth-of-July, but am going to look into them now as an option for next year.
