I've come to realise that Reddit trained me to simply consume content rather than be an active participant in a community. This makes sense when you realise that they are selling advertising and have a small number of people who generate enough content for others to consume.
Lemmy is meant to be a community, so I'm finding I'm having to step up and actually contribute by way of commenting, posting and modding.
Same here. I’ve been an avid lurker on Reddit for over a decade, but trying to comment and post here so there’s activity.
