Tried making some pure sugar mash last year and it turned out laughable. Thinking about trying my hand at potato mash. Does anyone have any recommendations for recipes or tips?

Also forgot the basic of basic I heard: 1 lb. of white sugar per gallon of water. Pitch bread yeast over the top and then let it sit for 6-8 days. Then do a stripping run and then a spirits run.

(Not a distiller myself; space, money, and licensing make that... impractical for the time being. Just enthusiastic)
