Well, if multiple countries are all saying the same thing then it just might be reeee bad..
That would be called the populum fallacy. Just because something is popular, doesn't make it right.
I notice none of you have actually provided any logical reasoning here that contradicted me, just reiterated the same "but others are doing it" stance.
Why is TikTok being banned? Because of 'surveillance"? Okay, then why isn't facebook and others? -- Oh because they're part of the same allied group who have an agreement to spy on each others citizens (five eyes).
It's basically saying "You're okay to spy on Americans if you're an 'American' company or at least one of the countries we're allied with"...
But, we're looking at a double-standard here. This is literally only being implemented because "ree china bad".
Give me some good arguments here, that...CANNOT...also be applied to American social media companies, and you'll have won this argument.
American social media is also not okay.
But this isn't an either/or situation. We can shit on both.
And Tiktok, just like Facebook (and the CCP and the US government) deserves all the hate it gets.
But you're not. That's about as clear as water. None of this legislation has any effect whatsoever on American companies...
Why?
Because this is a nationalism thing. Not a security thing. Not a health and well-being thing. This is a nationalism thing.
It's also an Israel thing; lots of pro-palestine content on TikTok, and Israel wants that shit shut down.
Oh no, won't anyone think about the poor Chinese government companies?
Hey, wouldn't want those Palestenians getting any sympathy from Western Governments now would we? Heavens no. Better shut TikTok down! Zionist.
Multiple counties have been banning Chinese apps long before the current Gaza situation. Take off your horse blinders.
Edit. Nevermind, your just a troll. The other day your "opinion" of Israel was pretty damned glowing:.

Now you're trying to call other people Zionist? Lol please
hahaha, what a redditor. You gotta dive through people's history looking for something 'incriminating' so you can attack the person instead of the argument at hand.
If they're banning an app because a nation wants to control the narrative, but you won't talk about that, because reeee China bad...but you can't articulate why "china bad".
Do you realize you're missing important context to that conversation, and all of my viewpoints align with each other perfectly? You know why? Because I'm not a hypocrite.
I'll give you another one of my quotes here, just so you understand my point of view on humanity:
You're here for a purpose. I'm here to argue and observe the dataset.
I didn't have to dive anywhere troll. I'm in that thread talking to you.
Call me a troll all you want, you've never had a valid argument to begin with. With bangers like:
You really are Soooooo intellectually stimulating.
Dude, put the phone down and talk to someone face to face for a change. I couldn't care less about your opinion on anything since all you want to do is flip flop on topics. Good luck out there.
Ew, you're one of those people who use a phone to browse the internet? That speaks volumes.
