I was about to drop this one because it is true; I think I'm over staturated of drag race.

But I saw it was the roast and decided to just watch the roast part. It was so funnyyyy. Samantha calling Supreme 'toxic' made me actually laugh.

Everybody was good.

Now Puppy is gone from the competition. She left with her head up high. And reminding us she will come back for as many times she is allowed <3

Hahaha she truly is the Jujube of DRE. Samantha's piece was genius. That bit about hurrying up because she had to go to a baptism cracked me up.

I was really afraid they'd kick Juriji out because of that eliminated queens' vote. I lost my favorite queens in RPDR 16 and UK vs the world 2. Loosing Juriji would have been too much. I was very happy to see both Samantha and Sethlas knew one thing for sure: Juriji had to stay.

And Juriji's joke about being French because she has a baguette was so funny and a rediming moment for trans women. So cunt

It was also nice to see Sagitaria taking all the jokes in good spirit

I feel like I should be over saturated with drag race but all four seasons running right now are just... Enjoyable?

I dunno, I usually get angry at production on like every season of the show and quit on half of them, but nothing is horribly egregious this time.

Only two seasons of DR have made me quit and never look back: the first Down Under (it was just rotted overall) and the first UK vs the World (when Pangina got Pangina’d)

For me, some of the non-English seasons have ended up fizzling out before I hit the finale. It has less to do with the quality and more to do with the barrier for entry of having to read the subtitles.

But there have been a few international ones where the judging is so off I can't do it. There was a season (I think Italy?) where the queen they loved literally couldn't walk in heels. They even gave her that feedback at one point, but her drag was also crunchy compared to everyone. I think she made it to top 3. It was baffling!

But mainline Drag Race can be terrible, too.

Season 13 made me say I would never watch drag race again. I'm glad I caved and watched 14 after it aired because all the seasons since have been great.

And All Stars 8 is one I quit midway through. I get it that they needed to hand Jimbo a crown but I can't stand production's love of Kandy Muse.

What was it about s13 that turned you off? I like Kandy but what made me quit AS8 was how it became more and more obvious that it was made for Jimbo to get a crown

I've been meaning to get started on Italy. Should I not for my own sake? lol

Do watch Italia! The seasons are messy as hell but they are fun, and Electra bionic is one fierce mother tucking queen!! There are also quite a few very lovable queens

I’ve started watching Italia and ngl i was gagged when Farida didn’t win, as much as i like Electra too

But gurl the editing on italia season 1 is messy and campy as hell (and i kind of live??)

Hahaha ye I wasn't having it when I watched it, yet somehow I couldn't stop watching it. I'm retrospect it's a great season. Draaaaamma mama Mia!

S13's production was heavy handed and blatant about it but way too sloppy in its execution across the whole season.

I'll get it out of the way first, I don't like Kandy's drag. Her mug is always flawless but everything else is always busted. I think she has more than one look on S13 that were worse than LaLa's bag look, and the only reason she was carried through the season is because of her willingness to be obnoxious to the people around her on screen for effect. Ru loves her and I just don't.

But even ignoring Kandy being "runner up" the season's heavy handed production carried Simone and Gottmik to the top. And don't get me wrong, I love Simone and think she had winner quality. But there are many challenges where you can see Simone, Gottmik, and Kandy being edited around to avoid showing how badly they were doing.

There's one than one challenge where Gottmik tells you in a confessional how funny Kandy was being rather than just showing you Kandy's performance. Gottmik is almost completely edited out of the dance challenge and when you can see her you can tell she's bottom quality. Simone and Kandy's bottom lip sync was double-sashay bad but Ru saved both of them in a frustratingly stupid moment.

Ugh. Gottmik winning the design challenge against Utica was a travesty. The whole double first episode was cruelty, and honestly you could see what production was planing because quite a few of the "winners" were worse than the losers.

Just top to bottom's it was a terrible, messy, season for production. We had queens get completely ignored the entire time. I still don't know anything about Tina Burner.

It's just a bad bad bad bad season. Ugh!

Damn I hadn't thought about season 13 like that but now that I read you I have to say O agree. I've never understood to the love Kandy gets. I don't wish her Any I'll, but I'm not a fan at all. Same with Gottmik. Wise words....

[–] [email protected] 1 points 6 months ago (1 children)

While i disagree with Kandy always being busted (I’m not a Kandy fan but the extreme dislike towards her baffles me tbh), i do agree that Gottmik was spared from that dance challenge, for which Denali and Rosé were robbed. Tina was also done dirty for getting bottom placement for a great hosting job and Utica absolutely deserved the design win

I can only dream of Denali on All Stars. She would slay so hard

[–] [email protected] 1 points 6 months ago

Yes! Denali really deserves a rudemption
