The purpose of this community is sort of a "work out your frustrations by letting it all out" where different leftist tendencies can vent their frustrations with one another and more assertively and directly challenge one another. Hostility is allowed, but any racist, fascist, or reactionary crap wont be tolerated, nor will explicit threats.

Australia already has concentration camps for refugees and most of our libs support it. It's already in the national zeitgeist that we "need them" to "keep our country safe."

I don't think it is much of a stretch for most Australians to jump from "evil potential terrorists" to "evil potential spies."

I will admit it is probably hyperbole that these guys would actually support such a thing. They'd probably hand wring and talk about how bad it is, but not actually do anything against it. That's more their style.
