A sublemmy devoted to Psych! This is the place to talk about the silliest, most pineapple-filled show on USA Network.
Show Summary:
Shawn Spencer has developed a keen eye for detail after being instructed by his police officer father to note even the most minute details of his surroundings. After conning the police into believing that he's a psychic, Shawn opens a detective agency with best friend Burton Guster.

There were so many hats, I don't remember there being so much hat-centricity from Henry (but I haven't ever watched psych all the way through).
I really enjoyed Shawn trying to help a brother out in jail, and then when the guy doesn't put in enough effort to save his own ass Shawn has no remorse in letting him swing. The bad guy (Mark Acheson) thinks Shawn did him a solid, and (presumably) the cops only caught him through their own detective work.
Later on, shortly after the interrogation room scene Shawn got a raise of hands for who believed in psychics, and one of the hands raised came from inside a jail cell, that moment got a sincere lol from me.
I grew up near Santa Barbara, (the town will get mentioned a couple times in later seasons) and almost all of the around town scenes sit terribly with me, I remembered this while rewatching.
Gus and Shawna chemistry is so amazing from the get-go, I wonder if they'd performed together before doing this? Their thrift shop hijinks are exactly what I remember living this show for. I'll have to listen to the podcast some time, I love cast hosted rewatch podcasts.
I don't know if I've brought up any of the actual psych mystery who-dun-it of the episode... What a wonderful story! And they did a bang-on job of how the rich can suffer no consequences of their actions. We need real life Shawn Spencers out there with even more determination than what he showed.
How do you feel about Shawn forging Gus's signature at the end of the episode? (Along with all the other very creepy things Shawn does)
We know it all works out, but I reacted very differently to it re-watching this scene 15 years later than I did when it originally aired. I think it's one of many instances that Shawn needs to seek stone professional help for his... Personally quirks.
