New research from the University of British Columbia (UBC) suggests it might. The study, published in Addictive Behaviors, found that cannabis use is linked to a decrease in the use of crystal methamphetamine among individuals at high risk of overdose in Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside, an area severely impacted by illegal drug use.

As one of the least chemically addictive drugs that's still worth doing and great for passing the time (letting the body cycle) this is probably going to be reproduced across all drugs.

It's just a solid step-down substitution destination. Then there's just a small step to sobriety.
