@The_Picard_Maneuver so that's where I'm going wrong.

I'm addicted to 1. Nf6 as black lately which is pretty indistinguishable from random bullshit in the opening.

I've been seeing that more often in my games recently. Usually that's King's Indian, right?

@The_Picard_Maneuver against 1. e4 you can do Alekhine's defence, and if they do 2. e5 that is fun, and if they stay away you can just move to King's Indian or Pirc.

At my low level it's also a good way to dissuade the scholar's mate entusiasts out there.

I recognize these names, but I would need to look them up to see what they are.

I only know a couple of openings myself, and luckily I haven't seen scholar's mate attempts in a while.

yeah that's why I like Alekhine in particular. I'm a patzer and too old/lazy to learn theory myself, so I like it when no one else has either.

This is a nice little intro to the main lines. Super fun opening as black.

Thanks, bookmarking this! I know I've seen it show up on the info block to the right of the board while playing before, so I bet this will feel familiar, but I can't remember if it's been my opponents or me (accidentally) doing it.

@The_Picard_Maneuver I think that's what led me to it, seeing it mentioned.

I was like "hmm, the computer thinks I'm doing a thing! What is this thing..?"
