About
Archaeology or archeology[a] is the study of human activity through the recovery and analysis of material culture. The archaeological record consists of artifacts, architecture, biofacts or ecofacts, sites, and cultural landscapes.
Archaeology has various goals, which range from understanding culture history to reconstructing past lifeways to documenting and explaining changes in human societies through time.
The discipline involves surveying, excavation, and eventually analysis of data collected, to learn more about the past. In broad scope, archaeology relies on cross-disciplinary research. Read more...

I'm a firm believer that we are a race with amnesia. The Younger Dryas extinction event reset the human race, leaving our numbers decimated and with only small pockets of survivors left to rebuild.

Just to provide another point of view. It is based on the scientific method and demonstrated facts. Also, it's presented in an entertaining way.

Based on what?
Based on stories like this coming out over My lifetime. The earliest known civilizations keep getting pushed back by thousands of years each time a new discovery is made. Each time a new story comes out, Scientists are "amazed at the level of technology that primitive humans had". I'm not saying that ancient humans were technologically advanced, and living in Atlantis or anything of the sort, but I do believe society started way earlier than modern science gives us credit for. Again, this is all conjecture and speculation and to be honest I didn't realize what instance I was posting this in or I probably would have kept my opinion to myself.
