More details:

  • The african mahogany has a continuous grain pattern all around the box.
  • It was made with simple miter joints and the splines you see on the image.
  • The bottom is also made with maple.
  • The inner walls are maple that were friction fit.
  • Finished with tung oil.
  • I had to make 2 jigs for this: a cross cut sled with an edge for the 45 degree cuts and a spline jig.

Here’s the spline jig. I don’t have a current pic of the sled. I had to modify it. I’ll get that up later today. (excuse the mess)
