Whether it be electronics, automobiles or medical equipment, the manufacturers should not be able to horde "oem" parts, render your stuff useless if you repair it with aftermarket parts, or hide schematics of their products.

They’re impossible to repair by yourself unfortunately. Even Apple just ditches them and gives you new ones.
The issue you’re describing is a known one, and they actually had a program for that issue so check it out here: https://support.apple.com/airpods-pro-service-program-sound-issues
