First comment on Lemmy. I imagine it's going to be pretty niche for a long while, if it ever does take off. Just seems too complicated right now and doesn't have a lot of outside support. But I think how it is right now is kind of refreshing. Just a whole bunch of people dedicated to trying something new.
The community desperately needs to move away from “protocol” this and “manual” that. And move toward QOL fixes for the average person. I love the idea of federated internet but it’s just so painful atm
