A "Showerthought" is a simple term used to describe the thoughts that pop into your head while you're doing everyday things like taking a shower, driving, or just daydreaming. A showerthought should offer a unique perspective on an ordinary part of life.

The amount of generational hate and is really ridiculous… I don't consider myself a kid with 21, but seriously, I'm happy if younger people join here and also embrace this space. And just acting as if everyone of a specific age would be the same is… oof

I don't see it as hate. I love kids, I love interacting with kids and want them to have wonderful spaces both online and off, but there is nothing wrong with enjoying adult-only spaces as well.

Who said Lemmy is an adult only space? A huge federation of servers, which strives to be a replacement to Reddit, is open to anyone who wants to be here. So just saying "this is great because there are no young people here" (which I doubt btw) isn't enjoying an adult-only space, but… trying to restrict a general open space.
(And I'm not even sure I agree with the original statement for a fitting community tbh, I'm rather against such restrictions for spaces.)
