It's not whataboutism, it's the context for the article you are pushing.
It'd be like saying "Russian forces gassed to death over a hundred of their own citizens in a theater." If someone points out that there were terrorists who had taken the citizens in the theater hostage, that's not whataboutism, it's extremely relevant context.
Yes, Israeli operations in response to the terrorist attack ended up killing some of their own citizens, and there's a legitimate story to discuss in that.
But they didn't just do that for shits and giggles out of the blue. They were responding to a well documented terrorist attack at the same time that killed a whole lot more Israelis.
Pointing that out isn't whataboutism, it's context. And at this point 'whataboutism' has lost all its meaning due to overuse by small minded propagandists on both sides who think it's a magic word capable of invalidating valid criticisms which add relevant context.
More whataboutism to support whataboutism. Classic Zionist bullshit.
It's unacceptable when tankies do it, and it's unacceptable when Zionists do it.
