Give memmy a try. It’s in TestFlight right now and prepping for App Store
Typing my response on Memmy right now. I hope all the best for the developer. It’s a fun little app with much room for many improvements.
Join the discord or monitor their GitHub if you have ideas or suggestions or if you dev and want to make pr stuff
But yeah it’s still early. All these apps are like 2 weeks old or less. They will just improve over time
Feel free to try out thunder, liftoff, and mlem
Each has its own community on here you can find to get the TestFlight access
From all of the ones out now, I like memmy the most
Oh thank you! I’m gonna install these as well and pour one out for our homie Christian.
For sure. I joined lemmy on the day of the infamous ama with spez and haven’t looked back so I got right in with following the apps development
Thanks for mentioning this, looks promising.
i don’t understand how to log into the app. i select my server for lemmy.world but wants me to type in my server. why can’t it just auto fill? i’m not going to understand this type of shit. i already selected my server.
Interesting. It was easy for me
I think you need to manually type in your server. Unless I’m missing something I don’t think there’s a drop down or anything.
just follow this example image using lemmy.world as your server name
Then enter username and pw
i realize now that typing in the server as lemmy.world is that simple. i thought i needed a ! or @ because i have been seeing a lot of references to weird tags like that because of the servers or whatever.
just having a hard time seeing this as a simple forum for common people. i can figure this out for the most part but i dont see my dad or wife switching to the fediverse when they simply want a single log in on a single forum for browsing stupid content.
It just might not be the right place for them, at least not yet. My parents didn’t get on Facebook until well after it’s boom with college-age people
If there is continual interest and growth for these fediverse platforms, eventually someone will be incentivized to improve or make spaces that are more intuitive for “common people”
i hope so. right now it just feels niche and you have to “get it” to use it.
Memmy is updating so damn fast, but I've got to admit, wefwef is pretty much Apollo (= what I'm looking for).
