I gotta be honest, I am all for world governments encouraging and yes, facilitating billionaires to hurt each other in one-on-one combat. Sell tickets and snacks why not. Pay per view. Just give the money to government services.
What with estate taxes, I would think it's potentially quite a valuable use of a goverment's time.
Next we need politicians and policy makers putting their fists to work instead of sending others, preferably in taxable ways, too.

Not complaining. President Camacho knew the limits of his intelligence and listened to a smart advisor when he found one, which puts him ahead of most every other world leader.
So people will fly around stupidly in private jets visiting this crap and damage the environment for nothing. Well they already do that, I‘m still not a fan of them continuing to do that.
At least make it a fight to the death, that might turn this into a climate neutral event.
I think all that would happen is billionaires would pay people to be their 'front' character and somehow find a way to monetize it on the down-low.
