Yeah I believe it was specifically designed to be easily defeated in the courts, but I can't remember where I read about that
President Biden plans to announce new measures to protect student loan borrowers following a Supreme Court ruling that halted a student debt relief plan. The ruling prevented more than 40 million borrowers from receiving loan forgiveness, a major setback to one of Biden's key campaign promises
The original program, launched in August, would have cancelled up to $20,000 in loans for Pell Grant recipients and $10,000 for other borrowers earning less than $125,000 annually
Despite this, Biden pledged to continue seeking relief for middle-class families, suggesting that the fight is not over and blaming Republican officials for the obstruction
The President also intends to make clear to student loan borrowers that Republicans are responsible for denying them relief
