I don't remember the title but I read a scifi book a few years ago where highly evolved spiders made computers where they controller ants with pheromones to make computations.

You seem to have commented on the wrong post but the book is called “Children of Time”.
Seems like it, it happened a few times that the post that I opened loaded another post's comment section. I can't even see, delete, or edit my original comment so I guess it will have to stay.
There was a meme that computers work by tiny bees doing the computations, that's where my comment was meant to end up.
