Whilst I get that we might not want hosting video on Lemmy instances, it would be nice if we could get gif / mp4 support for hotlinked videos from Imgur and the like.

Having popped into Reddit for the last few days they do make the feed seem more active compared to static photos and text posts.

Very space intensive. Makes the server costs balloon
