Against the storm has piqued my interest, combining my two fav genres of citybuilding and roguelites. Anybody have any opinion on it?
I've been gushing about it before, it's an excellent game made by dedicated devs. They have regular biweekly updates, constant communication and interaction with community, aren't afraid to make huge changes and additions to the game even though it already feels really stable, polished and practically finished. They started with a very novel idea of a roguelike basebuilder and somehow, through countless iterations, managed to make it actually good, balanced fun.
They deserve every cent for it, the game is wonderfully charming and engaging, just keep in mind that it might not be for everyone since your bases are all supposed to end relatively quickly - you won't be building a 50hour city like in Anno, Rimworld or other genre-adjacent games. For many that's a plus since these games tend to drag on and get boring in the later phases though.
It's great honestly. 100% recommend!
