I mostly just try to stay at home if I can and take a towel if I'm going out. I also find summer on the whole much more bareable if I limit or eliminate meat and fish from my diet.
This season also makes me grateful for living in a relatively central location where I can get grocery shopping delivered. My last place was on the edge of town and outside of the delivery radius for my city's supermarkets, so I had to buy 3-4 months' supply of rice in May so I had enough to last me through the summer.
Good point about diet. I tend to eat more sour or spicy foods than usual in the summer.
Also, those salt ramune tablets are great (along with plenty of water) to keep heat stroke at bay.
