Thoughts on this?

I've always liked the idea of Q1 & Q2 knocking out more drivers, maybe 7 in each, then a one shot qualifying for the top 5/6.

I find missing most of the qualifying laps quite irritating. TV cameras cutting to the finish line and watching the last few seconds of almost everyone's lap doesn't seem like the best way to show some of the best drivers in the world driving at their limit.

True. Some are definitely better at checking their mirrors than others. coughStrollcough But my take is that I want to watch these guys drive a car on the absolute limit, not slog around in a traffic jam. Watching them do traffic management is just frustrating and pointless. Single-shot quali would tick every box, for me.
