I'm sure Sony and Nintendo would love to get rid of exclusives too but can't because of other companies. That's what's called competition.
Exclusives are the opposite of competition, though. It's why streaming platforms are so crappy, because if you want to watch what you like it's probably split between 2+ platforms and you have to pay for multiple. If you want to play the games you like, ultimately that's probably asking you either own multiple consoles or just be very patient and have a PC.
Also, not sure about Nintendo, the literal god of exclusives.
Honestly I hate it so much... There are only ever ONE or TWO games from Sony or Nintendo that I'd want to play... I have a upper mid range PC, I'm not spending $500 on what will be a paperweight in a year... I've made that mistake before.
Just sucks when they don't ever release a game elsewhere. I'm not thrilled about waiting, but at least I'll EVENTUALLY get to play final fantasy 16... Nintendo games though... They're just asking for people to sail the high seas. I never buy Nintendo consoles, but thankfully emulators are getting good.
Fortunately, Sony is starting to ease up and release more of their titles on PC. It would be nice if they would release it on day one like Microsoft does, but it is better than it used to be.
As for Nintendo, the Switch emulators keep improving. If Nintendo does not want to release their games on PC, then I will just have to acquire them a different way.
