How is he the leading republican nominee if he is not overly popular.

Trump - 62.0% DeSantis - 12.8% Haley - 10.8%

I think there’s a lot of people who are too embarrassed to admit they like him, personally. No, you are confusing MAGA Republicans with Republicans. The two are not even close to the same.

Haley is a standard Republican. Trump has a cult following of people who have invaded the party. Trump originally was going to run as a Democrat but didn't get the nomination. He then switched to Republican where he did.

Had he received the Democrat nomination, the Maga people would have gone Democrat.

The people who vote for Biden, would vote for almost any Democrat. THe people who vote for Trump, most likely wouldn't vote Republican otherwise. I know several life long Democrats who voted for Trump. Other than Trump, they don't like Republicans. He is so disliked, that Republicans were openly telling people to vote for Joe Biden.

It's why I don't want Trump to win I want a traditional Republican like Haley to win.

While there are things I like about De Santis, there are things I don't like about him. He comes off as very petty.

I know you really like talking about Biden, but the question was about Trump so let's stay on topic.

Are you saying that 62% of GOP members would be democrats if Trump was on that side?

No. I never said but there would be an increase

[–] SatansMaggotyCumFart 3 points 1 year ago (1 children)

So what percent of GOP voters would go to the other side if Trump did?

[–] [email protected] -4 points 1 year ago (1 children)

We from the article I cited. About 11-15%

[–] SatansMaggotyCumFart 5 points 1 year ago (1 children)

That would be devastating for the GOP to lose 11-15% of their voters.

But your numbers don't work. You say GOP was invaded by MAGA. You say MAGA is 11-15% of GOP voters. Where does Trump's other 47% (62-15) support come from?

[–] [email protected] -5 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Not my numbers. Did you read the cite?

[–] SatansMaggotyCumFart 4 points 1 year ago (1 children)

I'm asking about the discrepancy in the numbers you are supplying to me in this conversation.

Don't deflect, unless you have no respect for me or this conversation at all.

[–] [email protected] -5 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Well, don't make things up. I didn't create the article. I cited it. Read the article as it answers your question.

[–] SatansMaggotyCumFart 5 points 1 year ago

I have read the article, it doe not explain the differences in the numbers you've supplied to me.

Telling me I'm making stuff up is not respectful, civil or furthering this conversation in any way and might even be against this community's rules.

I'd be interested to see what BlameMeta's take on that it.
