Hello fellow Bloom County fans!
About this community and how I post the comic strip… The comics are posted in chronological order on the day (usually) they were released. Posting them to match the release date adds a bit of fun and nostalgia to match the experience of reading them in the newspaper for first time. Many moons ago, I would ask my Dad to save the newspaper for me everyday so I could read my favorite comic strips. It really sucked when I missed a day. Only years later, when I got the books was I able to catch up on the missed strips.
Bloom County is an American comic strip by Berkeley Breathed which originally ran from December 8, 1980, until August 6, 1989. It examined events in politics and culture through the viewpoint of a fanciful small town in Middle America, where children often have adult personalities and vocabularies and where animals can talk. Right, I got that from the band name; I just didn't know if this was a, like, real band, or a band that someone started to parody a band from the comic, or a band that someone formed to pay homage to the comic, etc.
So it's just some band?
It's the band in the strip. The had a real band do these songs.
In the strip they were poking fun at heavy metal bands like Judas Priest, and the infamous Tipper Gore hearings.

Never a better time now that the community owner is posting them in real time. I've got all the books but I'm still planning on following along in syndication pacing.
