One quirky detail of my build: it has a tiered storage system through FuzeDrive. What that means is I have an 8 TB shucked hard drive and a 128 GB SSD "fuzed" together through some old software by Enmotus that is no longer available for purchase iirc. This means the SSD acts as a cache for my huge 8 TB drive. As a result, I can just install basically any game I want to my massive 8 TB drive without worrying about space, and if I play that game more than once or twice, it'll automatically move to the SSD portion for faster access.

Some ideas:

  • Is this using used hardware that has a story?
  • Got an unusual configuration that isn't normally seen (Dual RTX 3070 for example)
  • Did you paint it or add special lighting?

Nothing special really. It's currently as follows:

  • Crosshair X570 Dark Hero (a little overkill, but it was one of the very few fanless X570 boards when I was buying 2 years ago)
  • Ryzen 9 5900X
  • Noctua NH-U14S
  • Noctua RTX 3070
  • MP600 1 TB (OS + games + code)
  • WD Black 4 TB HDD (I need bulk storage because I'm working with many photos; probably going to replace it with a cheap 4 TB SSD soon)
  • A bunch of smaller 2.5" SATA SSDs
  • Seasonic SS860XP2
  • Fractal Design Define R5
  • Dell U2722DE + Dell U2719D both on Dell MSA20 stands (QHD is for me still a good middle ground of enough pixels for work and not too many pixels such that games would require a ridiculous GPU); probably adding a high refresh rate 34" 1440p ultrawide in the near future (I even tried an LG a few months back, but it had dead pixels, I returned it and didn't bother getting another one); the U2722DE I got mainly for work because it's easy to hook up to a laptop and have video + data + power all from one cable (I have a powered USB hub hooked to the monitor hosting most of my peripherals), daisy chaining works well (I have only one DP cable going to the GPU)
  • Boardsource Lulu, MX Master 2S
  • Thaulab Varna IV DAC, Objective 2 amp, AKG K7XX, Audio-technica ATH-M40X

The case, the PSU and the CPU cooler are "leftovers" from the first somewhat serious build I did in 2015; they're still good, although I'm probably going to replace the PSU just because it's getting a bit old. I was thinking of getting a Fractal Torrent case too, but it's not too urgent.
