Part of me wants to move to Palm Springs but 6 months of the year being 90+ worries me. I think they hit something like 128 degrees this last summer.
It's such a beautiful place but I can't go back to living in a place that has to wrap the door handles in the summer so customers don't get burns on their hands opening the door.
Good lord. Already in a hot spot in LA county so definitely not looking to worsen that!
Walmart had to stop selling such cheap flip flops at one point because they were melting to the asphalt upon exiting the building lmao.
This was around 2006
I've lived in Southern California my whole life, and have lived or have family in a good amount of places here.
The one thing I can tell you if you decide to move out here. Don't move to the desert.
You wanna live in the desert move to Arizona or Las Vegas area. If you move to the California desert all you get is heat, meth, high taxes, and nothing what is great about California. Except for maybe palm trees.
I’m kinda in the half desert of SoCal right now in LA County. Definitely tempted by the house I could get in Palm Springs but the heat would just destroy me. We’ve been eyeing Oxnard and Pismo beach. We’d love access to the beach and the cooler temperatures.
Having grown up there, add in the month or so where it sits above 110°f and often peaks in the 120-130 area every day.
Also, it's a miserable place to live if you're not specifically into golf, shopping, and other geriatric pastimes
Good to know, thanks for the info
