Mabuhay at maligayang pag-alis sa Lemmy! ✈️

An abandoned community for the Philippines and all things Filipino! 🇵🇭

Started out as a Reddit alternative during the blackout from Jun 12-21, 2023 with over 1k members in just a few days. Fizzled faster than the "I Didn't Do It" kid after a month until it became the internet's Centralia in less than a year.

If there's one type of post that I'm absolutely sick of at r/ph it's the "Inflation is real" with matching portion size pic in fast food establishments. Yes we get it, prices are getting higher while portion sizes are getting smaller. You don't have to remind us almost every fucking week.

When they ("they" as in anyone who complains about inflation) do it, it's mostly as a way to disparage the present administration complete with another shot at those who voted for him. Inflation is inevitable, kahit sino pa nakaupo. Jeepney's won't be P1.50 forever, your 2-piece chicken meals aren't going to be P90 until the day you die, businesses will always think of ways to make a profit when their margins are affected so if that means cutting the siomai pieces to 2 from 4 or using less sugar, they will do it.

Complaining about inflation is unintentionally praising the good old days of Marcos Sr. when he was just fresh off a reset button. If there's anyone to blame, it's the corporations. Heck, they should be adjusting your salary to compensate for inflation.

buy fresh produce and meat and cook 'em home. ang dali lang naman magluto ng tinolang isda, di yan aabutin ng 15mins.

mas cheaper and healthy pa.
