Has anybody been watching Monarch so far, and have any thoughts on the series so far. I've enjoyed the moments where the muto are around, but I'm not entirely sold on the whole shadow organisation tied up with the muto and just generally being kind of generically secretive. I enjoy it enough to see the season out before forming any big opinions, but I am interested on what others have thought so far.

I’m with you. I’ve seen the season so far and will watch it through being enough of a fan of the (first two Godzilla) films.

It seems they’ve struggled to create a premise for this show. The general idea of linking two stories from the beginning and present of Monarch is good, and I get the sense that they’ve got some sort of ending they’ve decided they want to get to, but they’re not really clear on why this story should be told with these characters.

I’m kinda hopeful though.

Godzilla is a lot of fun the few times he's turned up so far, I'm hopeful that there will be more screentime for him as the series progresses, as the few short scenes we've gotten just make me really want another monster movie instead of the series we got.

Yea. “Godzilla: Origins” or something telling the story of the grandmother more or less could have worked as a film maybe.
