This is just another advertisement for the AI industry disguised as an article. They’re “so scared” what AI holds for the future. Of course, the monk is financially tied to a bunch of AI people. Of course, he thinks 50 trillion dollars should be put Into making sure AI is good. If there is an actual conscious machine I will have little doubt it will be kind or at least want to keep us around. Also, even if it were evil you can just unplug it. What we should worry more about than an all powerful artificial mind is what capitalists will do with existing pattern recognition software.
