Mabuhay at maligayang pag-alis sa Lemmy! ✈️

An abandoned community for the Philippines and all things Filipino! 🇵🇭

Started out as a Reddit alternative during the blackout from Jun 12-21, 2023 with over 1k members in just a few days. Fizzled faster than the "I Didn't Do It" kid after a month until it became the internet's Centralia in less than a year.

Buhayin si lemmy.ph, a monthly thread would be somewhat depressing in my opinion. But I indeed might be the minority, having actively avoided all things reddit since the fiasco. I don't think I've opened any reddit link for a month or so now, the only time I see reddit is through screenshots lol.

I still go to Reddit at least every other day, albeit just as a casual reader and not a participant. It's the only place where you can find answers to most questions, specifically obscure passions. Lemmy isn't there yet.

Lemmy still has a ways to go nga, what will hurt them a bit when it comes to attractiong new users is yung Section 4.0.2 nilang inimpose a few weeks ago inb4 there's some specific nuance(s) talaga as to why

but that's for lemmy.world, I don't think other lemmy instances don't have such a rule, correct me if I'm wrong tho
