A community to discuss and play the Music League Game with other Fediverse Users

Rules

Any games and prompts should follow lemmy.ca rules. The relevant ones are:

  1. No bigotry - including racism, sexism, ableism, homophobia, transphobia, or xenophobia.
  2. Be respectful. Everyone should feel welcome here.

How to play?

Until we get a Fediverse version of this, you will need a Spotify account.

  1. Every week, there will be a prompt. You will need to pick a song based on that
  2. The next week, everyone will assign points anonymously
  3. Enjoy finding new music and reading comments until we get to the end of the game
  4. The user with the most points will win something (like our admiration)๐Ÿ†

You're welcome to create and share your own games too! To keep the community active, I want to keep at least one community wide game going. So please suggest some categories you would like to see

Ideas:

  • Choose a song that was a hit when you were in school (high school, university, maybe you're a teacher!)

  • Songs for Long Drives

  • A song by an artist that never made it big, but should have.

  • Share a great song where the primary language is not English.

  • Share a love song

  • Share something from a Video Game Soundtrack

The ideas are endless! Share some of yours

Would love to see:

Songs that send you into introspection

Songs that start fast and end slow

Songs over 5 minutes

Songs that tell a humorous story

I'll also set up a running list of prompt ideas, so even if one doesn't get used in the first game we can use it later on
